The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has issued new Hours of Service (HOS) regulations for property-carrying commercial motor vehicles. These regulatory updates alter the maximum driving time rules. The new HOS regulations went into effect October 1, 2005; this date starts a three-month "soft enforcement" period. Frank Tupper, Director of the U.S. DOT's Transportation Safety Institute stated, "Our ability to quickly update and distribute course material to reflect regulatory changes such as these is only one of the many benefits that we offer the industry with our new online training program. We have reviewed and updated the Hours of Service courses at motorcarriertraining.com to reflect the changes to the HOS regulations."
The DOT/TSI Online Training Institute now offers Hours of Service Courses which include the updated FMCSA regulations for both Supervisors and Drivers of commercial motor vehicles. Please refer to our course catalog for more information about these two new courses.
